checking and corrective action:
The organization shall monitor and measure processes needed to support the effective functioning of the OH&S management system using suitable methods (e.g. audits, incident investigations); establish documented criteria for measuring whether these processes are effective; take action to improve process effectiveness where necessary; review and update monitoring and measurement methods as appropriate in the light of experience and technological developments; investigate accidents/incidents (including ‘near misses’) to determine root causes and prevent recurrence; maintain records of accident/incident investigations, corrective actions taken and their effectiveness.
management review:
The organization shall review the OH &S management system at planned intervals to ensure its continuing suitability, adequacy and effectiveness in the light of experience and changes in circumstances, including new hazards & risks; legal requirements; technology; organizational changes (e.g. new products, services, processes) and OH&S performance; the results of monitoring & measuring; internal & external audits; feedback from workers, their representatives, and other interested parties.
